Each business continuity plan shall specify its scope, objectives, resource requirements, and dependencies that support the recovery of critical activities. The plan shall define communication protocols to be used during activation, response, recovery, and stand-down phases. These protocols must outline responsibilities for internal and external communications, stakeholder notifications, and the communication channels to be used.
Each plan shall also include stand-down procedures describing how and when to formally conclude response actions, transition to normal operations, and notify all relevant stakeholders of the stand-down decision.
