The Swedish Security Protection Act (Säkerhetsskyddslagen) regulates security measures for activities that are important for Sweden's security or that Sweden has committed to protect through international agreements.
The law applies to both public and private sector activities. It includes requirements for information security, personnel security, physical security, and security-protected procurement.
The Security Protection Act aims to prevent unauthorized access to classified information and to protect Sweden's security interests. Organizations conducting security-sensitive activities must conduct security analyses, establish security protection plans, and appoint a security manager. Recent amendments to the law have introduced stricter requirements and expanded the scope of application.
