Workflow: Quality management

Back

Quality management is the workflow for running the ISO 9001 quality management loop alongside the ISMS — quality risks, quality objectives, internal and external issues, customer feedback, and supplier quality. It has strong overlap with improvement and management review workflows.

🆕 What's new: The Quality management workflow brings together what used to be spread across themed lists. Your existing quality risks, objectives, processes, and customer feedback are all here, exactly as they were — just on one focused page.

When this workflow appears

Quality management is visible when you have ISO 9001 active among your frameworks. Activate it and the workflow appears in the Workflows list on the Dashboard. Deactivate ISO 9001 and the workflow returns to the framework-specific catalogue.

Setting it up

Quality management is a framework-specific workflow — there's no separate guided setup. The workflow is available directly; configuration (owner, environmental documentation, related tasks) is handled inline on the page when relevant.

What's on the page

Main metrics

A single trend line: your ISO 9001 compliance score over time, sourced directly from the compliance view. This is the one metric the workflow optimises against — there are no separate operational counters for quality management.

Documentation

The documentation that backs your quality management practice, organised into two groups:

Assets

  • Processes — the organisation's operational processes
  • Products & services — what the organisation delivers to its customers
  • Externally provided processes — processes provided by external parties on the organisation's behalf

Records

  • Quality risks — risks to product or service quality
  • Quality objectives — your stated quality performance objectives
  • Internal & external issues — the issues identified per ISO 9001 clause 4.1

Each documentation row shows the total item count, items still to work on, the related ISMS theme, and the responsible owner.

Tasks

Below the documentation, the workflow page lists the operational tasks tied to quality management — process documentation, supplier-quality oversight, customer-feedback handling, quality-objective tracking. Each task shows its theme, status (Untreated / Partly done / Mostly done / Fully done), owner, priority (Low / Normal / High / Critical), and due date.

Reports

The audit-ready outputs Quality management produces:

  • Quality policy — the foundational quality policy
  • QMS description and scope — describes the quality management system and its boundaries

Reports refresh from your live data, so they're always current.

How it connects to other workflows

Quality management has strong overlap with Continuous improvement — nonconformities and quality-driven actions flow there for tracking. Management reviews consume the quality performance summary as a standard input. Supplier management carries the supplier-quality dimension that ISO 9001 expects.
